Design
As the only News Editor in my junior year, I took on the responsibilities of two people: designing multiple pages for every issue of The Winged Post. Because the News section prioritized timeliness, we often included events that happened right before our send-to-press deadline, which meant assembling articles, visuals, and layouts at the very last minute. Through that process, I learned to stay flexible under pressure and adapt designs on the fly to ensure every page met our standards of accuracy and quality.

Issue 5 News 4
This page featured a protest that took place just the Saturday before send-to-press, and I remember writing the article that same afternoon and assembling the layout right after. I love how the page came together: the articles, photos, and infographic all complement one another, and the vibrant colors from both photos create a cohesive visual balance.
Issue 3 News 3
This issue was especially challenging because we were short on news content, and I had to ensure that every limited story we had would come together in time. I experimented with the design by combining cutouts from two different photos, and I was proud of how the final result turned out.
